The Music Ministry of the Woodruff Church of God has been named Spirit of Praise Ministries by the Church Music Board. The name is representative and inclusive of our heritage and call to ministry. “Spirit” represents our being Pentecostal. We are a Pentecostal church and understand the necessity of having the Spirit and His anointing on all that we do musically. “Praise” represents our mandate and desire to celebrate, praise and worship the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. “Ministry” denotes, according to the Hebrew, “the open hand”. We give to God and to others out of our talents and abilities. We are all about giving, not receiving.

Spirit of Praise Music Ministry Mission Statement

The Spirit of Praise Music Ministry’s mission is to first of all provide the means by which we lead our church into the awesome presence of God. Both instrumentally and vocally, we desire to lead the saved into an encounter with the Father and point the lost in the direction of the Savior of the world.

Secondly, we desire to be proclaimers to the world outside the church walls. Whether this be with special programs, other ministry opportunities, or simple everyday living, we must always proclaim the good news to a dying world.

Spirit of Praise Music Ministry Pledge

We will endeavor, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to serve for the advancement of Woodruff Church of God, and its ministries; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully, regularly, to the support of this ministry; to spread the Good news of Jesus Christ to all people who see and hear our witness of God’s greatness and love.

We also determine to walk circumspectly in the world, to be faithful in our engagements, to avoid criticism or negative attitudes; to remember one another in prayer, to aid one another in times of difficulty, and to cultivate Christian character in our lives individually and as a music ministry.

Special Outreach Programs by Spirit of Praise Music Ministries

“His Story”
This powerful Easter Musical/Drama takes place in our Christian Life Center. It opens with “Mary Did You Know” to depict the birth of our Lord. The production then walks through the ministry of Jesus, triumphal entry, last supper, garden arrest, crucifixion, resurrection, angel appearing to the women in the garden, and much, much more!

“Freedom Celebration”
The special production by the choir takes place in the Christian Life Center also. We love to celebrate God and Country. We take time to go back in history and remember the reason for the founding of our country. This production is full of multimedia pictorials and videos. Songs like “We Hold These Truths”, “God Bless The USA”, a powerful finale rendition of “Battle Hymn of the Republic” with confetti launchers shooting at the end.

“Dinner Theater”
For the first time last year, the music ministry presented a dinner theater. Over 150 were in attendance in the elegantly decorated Christian Life Center. A wonderful meal was prepared by Anne’s Cakes and Catering and was flawlessly delivered to each table by our music ministry personnel. Fun time, a Christmas Carol sing-a-long and a finale presentation by our choir.
