Fasting, Day 9 (Tuesday)
Home > Pastor's Blog > Fasting, Day 9 (Tuesday)I’ll do this several times throughout the course of the 40 day fasting period. I want to remind you of the “afterward”. I want to take you back to the last message I brought to you about fasting. I showed you the fast and then I showed you their “afterward”. Ezra 8, the people wanted safety and the favor of God. They got the FAVOR OF GOD. In I Sam. 1, Hannah wanted a child. She made a promise to God. She fasted and prayed. She got THE ANSWER TO HER PRAYER. In Dan. 10, Daniel fasted. He was TOUCHED BY GOD and given UNDERSTANDING. In Judges 19 & 20, they fasted because they had lost some battles and wanted God’s help. They got VICTOY IN WAR and the DEMONIC POWER WAS BROKEN. In Acts 9, Saul had met Christ on the Damascus Road and now was fasting and praying. He got HEALING (sight restored), SPIRITUAL VICTORY (fill with the Holy Ghost) and RECEIVED A CALL OF GOD (began to preach Jesus). In Acts 27, Paul and the men on the ship fasted. They got RESTORATION. They thought they were going to die and were willing to try to swim for it. Paul had a word from God…..stay with the boat and you will live. In Acts 10, Cornelius was fasting and praying. He got a REVELATION OF TRUTH. The Lord told him who to send for and when Peter got there, he preached to them Jesus.
I hope you will not allow your flesh to dictate what you will achieve and not achieve. Some things only happen by prayer AND fasting. When you look at what the people in the Bible receive in their “afterward”, I don’t think we want to fail. Keep pressing on and we will be victorious!
