Fasting, Day 7

Home > Pastor's Blog > Fasting, Day 7

Ok, I’m waiting to see how this turns out today. I’m fasting all day Saturday & Sunday. Since this is the first time doing I’m doing this, I’m anxious to see what happens. Not having eaten on Saturday, what will Sunday hold? Will I be hungry? Will I be weak? Will I have a head ache? Wait a minute! Why am I focusing on the physical? The better questions are: Will I be anointed? Will I be useable? Will I sensitive to His Spirit? Oh, yeah!!!! I like that better!!!!! I’d much rather be anointed to preach the word than to know my belly is full. If I thought more souls would be saved, I’d do it every Sunday!!!!!!

I think that’s the whole point of fasting. It’s not to get us to think how miserable we are without food, but how much of an impact the Lord is making in our lives because of our sacrifice. Jesus was baptized in water, filled with the Spirit and immediately driven by the Spirit into the wilderness to…… FAST! Notice what happened when He came out of the wilderness….. Jesus preached “REPENT….” (Matt. 4:17), Jesus called people into ministry (Matt. 4:18-20), Jesus healed people (Matt. 4:23-24). The empowerment Jesus had through the Spirit and the price He paid through His body, set in motion some absolutely awesome things. That’s what I’m anticipating. Yes, I’ve been called to preach, but whatever your ministry is, LOOK OUT! God is going to use you mightily because of your sacrifice in fasting and your drawing nearer to Him. And when we draw near to Him, He fills us afresh and anew with His Holy Ghost power. Gifts should begin to operate and we should see healings, miracles and wonders. OH HALLELUJAH!!!!!

Keep on the firing line and keep pressing on with your fasting. God is going to do great things!
