Fasting, Day 6 (Saturday)
Home > Pastor's Blog > Fasting, Day 6 (Saturday)I just wanted to share a testimony with you. I know that we understand that the afterward comes following the fast. However, some people jumped the gun and started fasting early. Don’t you love it when people get so excited about the things of God that they just can’t wait to put them to the test?
Sis. Sandy Hylton called me on Wednesday to tell me some news. She had a hip replacement some time ago and while in the hospital, she had a heart attack as well. Because of that heart attack, she has had some issues with her heart. Her doctors felt as though she would need heart surgery. She was scheduled for some tests on the heart, but when I called to find out the time, she told me that it had to be rescheduled. I told her it was just more time for God to work. Well, they recently did a “cardiac MRI”. Again, some of the doctors still felt that heart surgery was going to be necessary. She had called me and asked me to pray that when they did the test that all the vessels and arteries and all other parts were functioning as they should be. We agreed together in prayer. Continuously, the doctors felt that open heart surgery was going to be needed. She had begun to make peace with God about doing whatever had to be done. This week, the doctor called and wanted to meet with her. She felt as though that open heart surgery was inevitable and that whatever would be, would be. The doctor that met with her told her that he had looked at her test results and just doesn’t see that open heart surgery is necessary!!!!!
I’m telling you that we are going to see healings taking place because God’s people are fasting AND praying. I taught Wednesday night about prayer and I used the scripture from Luke 18:1 – Men ought to always pray and not faint. Other translations record the “faint not” as “don’t give up hope”, “don’t lose heart”, “don’t grow weary”. Can I tell you that’s the same thing we must do with our commitment to fast. Don’t grow weary, don’t give up, don’t lose heart and don’t lose hope! WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!
