Fasting, Day 5 (Friday)

Home > Pastor's Blog > Fasting, Day 5 (Friday)

They have a saying for those that work out in gyms….. No pain, No gain”. Why we think everything we do for Christ is going to be a cake walk, is beyond me. After all, think about what Christ had to endure for us. He was falsely arrested, beaten for no crime and crucified while all the while being innocent. Talk about PAIN!!!!

Yet without His pain, we would have had no gain. We would not have gained salvation. We would not have gained forgiveness of our sins. We would not have gained the promise of having a place prepared and getting to live in heaven for all eternity. HIS PAIN WAS OUR GAIN!

So there has to be merit in the times when we have pain, knowing we’ll experience even more of His gain. When I fast and push away from the table, it causes me pain. My stomach aches with hunger, yet I know that my pain is my gain. I’m gaining valuable time with Him and the more time I spend with Him, the more I know Him. The more I know Him, the more I become like Him. The more I am like Him, the more I please Him. The more I please Him, the more He responds and moves on my behalf……. THAT’S GAIN, BABY!!!!!!!

Matt. 5:6 - Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

So, press through the pain. There is wonderful gain coming. And the rewards are “out of this world”!!!!!
