Fasting, Day 3

Home > Pastor's Blog > Fasting, Day 3

Seems like one of the Sunday nights I preached about fasting, I told you that fasting had the potential to make your senses keener. I know that’s right! I’ve manage to see every person walking with a bag of chips or eating cookies and man can I smell coffee brewing from a mile away!!!!!! But the truth is my mind is alert. With every cookie I see AND PASS UP, my mind is focused on Him. I’m constantly reminded that I’m doing this for Revival. I’m doing this for souls to be saved. I’m doing this for backsliders to come home. I’m doing this for families to be strengthened or reunited. I’m doing this so those with sicknesses can be healed. I’m doing this so those bound with addictions can be set free. I’m doing this so those that are bound by religion can be free and have relationship with God.

Go ahead and brew your coffee! It only makes me think of Him. Eat your chocolate chip cookies! It only makes me hungry for Him! I’d say my senses are more keenly tuned into Him and I’m only 3 days into this. Only the future knows what will happen if we just keep on doing what we’re doing. Hang in there….. we’re going to make a difference.

I Cor. 2:9-10 (NCV) - But as it is written in the Scriptures: No one has ever seen this, and no one has ever heard about it. No one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. But God has shown us these things through the Spirit. The Spirit searches out all things, even the deep secrets of God.

What you haven’t seen, heard or imagined can be shown to you by the Spirit who searches the deep things of God. WOW!!!! Fasting is pretty cool when you think about letting your senses kick it up a notch!!!!
