Fasting, Day 1
Home > Pastor's Blog > Fasting, Day 1I’ve done real well today. I’ve not have coffee, tea nor softdrinks. Just water and some Gatorade. I’ve had nothing to eat and until just now, I’ve not been hungry. I’ve talked to the Lord today when I would normally drink my coffee, put my hand in the cookie jar, or thought about stopping for lunch. Now that I’m hungry, my mind is not on eating, but being reminded why I’m hungry. I’m hungry because I’m fasting. And just why am I fasting? I want to hear God speak. I want to see God move. I want to see God answer prayer. I want to see His glory. I want to see your lost family saved, delivered set free, chains broken. I want to see God show up in our church services in such a mighty way, NOBODY would be able to deny it was God. I want to see our pews filled, our baptistery in constant usage, our parking lots full.
I am hungry……. But hungry for God, hungry for change, hungry for something beyond the norm and status quo. I’m hungry for His glory, the manifest presence of God. I’m hungry for revival. I’m HUNGRY!
After Jehoshaphat and the people fasted, they received a word. 2 Chron. 20:15, 17 - ….Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s…..Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.
Hang in there….. don’t be afraid. The Lord is with you!
